It's taken 10 years of research and development, but with this Decade Maple Series snare drum, Pearl finally present an affordable, all-maple snare. Graced with a Satin Black Burst finish that subtly fades from dark to light, the 14" x 5.5" shell is made of six plies of maple and is 5.4mm thick. While this snare drum comes included with all Decade Maple Series drum kits as standard, its warm sound also goes exceptionally well with a percussionist's kit.
Shell Hardware
Obviously, a snare drum is more than just a shell. To pull the best possible sound out of it, Pearl have equipped the snare with state-of-the-art, chrome-plated shell hardware. Strong steel Triple-Flanged hoops combine with eight lugs and sixteen tension rods to tightly hold the fitted Remo skins in place while, to tune the 20-strand SNW1420 snare, the DMP1455S/C262 has been outfitted with an SR700 snare strainer.
