The USA range by the renowned brand Guild contains high-quality acoustic guitars in various sizes. The steel-string D-55E Natural is well known as a luxurious model and features a built-in L.R. Baggs piëzo pickup. The sides and back are made of Indian rosewood and the top is made of AAA solid Sitka spruce. The set-in neck is made of mahogany and has a fretboard and bridge that are both made of ebony. The entire instrument is finished with a special nitrocellulose lacquer. Originally, this guitar was introduced in 1968 as a custom Dreadnought, but it became so popular that it was taken into regular production in 1974.
